Windswept Dunes Golf Course is a public, 18-hole golf course located in Freeport, Florida, about 30 minutes from the beaches of Destin, 30A and Panama City Beach.
The course first opened for play in 2004. The course was designed by Doug O'Rourke.
The layout has white sand dunes (some as high as 20 feet!), large rolling fairways, artful bunkering and excellent conditioning. The course has wide fairways with strategically placed bunkers. The greens are large size. Although the course is part of a residential community, the course is well buffered from the homes.

Watch out for # 7, a 475-yard par-4 challenge and the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at Windswept Dunes Golf Course is # 13, a 516 yard par-5.

Great little course. A hidden gem. Recommended to me by a +2 handicap as a great little track in the middle of nowhere but not far from 30A. Forget Destin courses, as this is the place to play. The greens are undulating. Bunkers and dunes are well placed and challenges you to make a golf shot. Plays very LONG, so be ready to club up.
